As a former CFP® and lifelong student of finance, I am passionate about finance because I believe that, at its root, what it really symbolizes for all of us is freedom and empowerment. Many of us, myself included, have used money as a way to not do 1) work we love, 2) live the life we love (putting off what we want until “someday”), and 3) have felt at times trapped by our financial situation because we feel we “don’t have enough.”
These are very disempowering ways to think and feel about finance/money. Learning to understand what I call the 3D version of money (how retirement/investment accounts work, how taxes work, insurance, estate planning, etc.) and the 5D version of money (how we think, feel, and our consistent state of being with money) is when we can have financial ease and freedom in our life.
I am also passionate about finance from a legacy perspective with our children. They need to know both the 3D and 5D versions of money so that they feel empowered to create the life they want and know that whatever they believe is possible for them, they can create. We have a duty as parents to change our relationship with finance so that we can stop the patterns that we have emulated from our parents, grandparents, etc.
I believe everyone deserves to have as much money as they want to create and that they are capable of generating wealth to have, use, share, and give as they choose to do so.
