Good jobs without college requirementshave always been around. If you’re searching for a job without a degree, you won’t necessarily be doomedto retail or admin jobs. High-paying, professional-level, flexible jobs exist for those with a high school diploma.
We looked at two recent lists of high-paying jobs without college requirements, and compared those to our FlexJobs database to find out which of these jobs are also flexible.Flexible jobs have either a part-time, freelance, alternative schedule, or remote working option.
CNBC used data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to create a list of the highest-paying jobs that don’t require a bachelor’s degree.And GoBankingRates.com created a list of 15 of the highest paying jobs without college requirements.
We found that fiveof the jobs on these two listsrequire no college degree and are also flexible. Read on to learn more about these positions.
Here are the highest-paying flexible jobs without college requirements:
1.Transportation, Storage, and Distribution Manager
This position involves coordinating transportation, storage, and distribution activities according to policies, laws, and regulations. FlexJobs has posted telecommuting positions in this industry, allowing managers the ability to work from home. With a high school diploma, this job averages a salary of $80,840/year.
2.Detective and Criminal Investigator
Criminal investigators conduct investigations related to federal, local, or state law violations. Only needing a high school diploma, a detective and criminal investigator can earn upwards of$77,210 a year. FlexJobs has posted telecommuting options for this position.
3.First-Line Supervisor of Non-Retail Sales
Asupervisor of non-retail sales oversees and coordinates the activities of sales workers. Other duties can include budgeting and personnel work. This position can pay $72,300/year and telecommuting and part-time flexible options are common.
4. Claims Adjuster
Insurance companies and related organizations hire claims adjusters to evaluate insurance claims, and many of these jobs do not require a college degree. The median pay for claims adjusters in 2015 was $63,060. On FlexJobs, we often see these roles with telecommuting options.
5. Real Estate Broker
While a career as a real estate broker does require courses, exams, and licensing, it does not have any college requirements. Some real estate brokers go into business for themselves, and others work for brokerage firms or real estate agencies. Real Estate Brokers had a median salary of $56,860 in 2015. Flexible work options often include the option to telecommuting, and both full- and part-time schedules.
